Our Story

Burek Farms has proudly served as La Porte, Indiana's premier farmer's market since 1956. Renowned for our commitment to providing fresh, high-quality produce, we offer a comprehensive range of fruits and vegetables, spanning from A to Z. Our journey began when Ed and Jean Burek purchased a small farm just south of LaPorte in 1956, coinciding with the birth of their son, Ed. Initially cultivating less than an acre of sweet corn and strawberries, our farm has flourished over the years, evolving into one of the county's leading agricultural enterprises. With over six decades of experience and three generations dedicated to refining seed selection and growing processes, we have diversified our offerings far beyond sweet corn.

Our commitment to quality extends beyond corn, as we provide over 30 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. In addition to our fresh produce, we specialize in homemade salsas, dry rubs, jams, and jellies, crafted with care and bursting with flavor. Furthermore, we offer farm-fresh eggs, adding to the assortment of wholesome goodness we provide. To enhance your shopping experience, we have a gift shop conveniently located on our premises, featuring unique items and delightful surprises.
